It sounds really corny, but I think that if you’re beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure. You can be a pretty face, but if you’re not a nice person, it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right. If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps.

CR: Because if you’re a model, you’re not a person, and you can’t have feelings.
JS: It’s true, it’s true. Some people in the industry, it’s just like they’re missing an empathy chip.
CR: Right! Some people. Not everyone, there are good people.
JS: Oh, absolutely. Not everyone. But there’s an attitude that’s like — it’s girls to order. You pick one out of the lineup, and you want that one, and you want her to do these poses, and you want her to wear these clothes.
CR: Right. And you’re going to get her exactly how you want — like she’s a doll. You have to remember there’s a soul and a heart in that person, and feelings…

No, seriously.
I thought my days as a photographer were over when I left NYC (after attending SVA for Photography). Aside from starting and running a top-notch retouching company, I mostly did model tests (for Women, Click, Supreme, etc.) – which was awesome. I also did a few spec shoots for magazines. One story, styled by an amazing stylist, Carlos Nazario, is finally getting published!

So, you know what celebrities do on New Year’s Eve all the time? They hang out with other celebrities and wear crowns and act like tigers for the camera.
Scarlett, I swear, you and Gemma would totally have fun hanging out with me and Steph. We could even go to Burger King and get those paper crowns and eat Whoppers and then we could sneak into the movies. I’ll even let Gemma bring Trentini, and Poly.
